We offer Chinese language class and culture class.

Text book
1.“Chinese” is a series of 10 textbooks from Jinan University. Through a series of articles and texts, “Chinese” teaches basic speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills. Additionally, students will also learn about Chinese culture.
2.AP Text Book: AP Chinese Language And Culture by Barrobon’s
This AP Chinese Language and Culture course is intended for students who have reached the highest level and have successfully completed level 10 of Chinese courses. Throughout the course, students will further enhance their communication skills and cultural competence. By the end of the school year, the goal is for students to perform at the Intermediate level across the three communication modes—interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational—as outlined in the ACTFL Performance Descriptors for Language Learners. The AP Chinese Language and Culture exam will be the graduation exam for students in this school.
3.Our classical Chinese textbooks include:
"Hundred Family Surnames and Thousand Family Names": This text teaches us that each person has a name, which is essential for social interactions and other aspects of life.
"Three Character Classic": A traditional Chinese enlightenment textbook, it helps children understand common sense, conventional Chinese studies, historical stories, and the principles of being a person and conducting oneself in various situations.
"The Rules for Being a Good Pupil and Child": This book has five parts. The first chapter, "General Introduction," rewrites Confucius' words into three-character sentences. The main text is divided into four parts: "Be filial at home and respectful to elders outside," "Be cautious and trustworthy," "Love all people and be close to benevolent," and "If you have spare time, study literature." It explains these principles, listing the etiquette norms that children should follow at home, outside, and in their interactions with people, dealings with matters, and studies.
"The Great Learning" and "The Doctrine of the Mean": "The Great Learning" centers on self-cultivation, proposing that everyone, from the emperor to the common people, should prioritize self-cultivation. The methods include studying things, achieving harmony, being sincere, and rectifying the mind. "The Doctrine of the Mean" emphasizes "sincerity," considering it crucial for achieving the "doctrine of the mean."
"Mencius": This is the most important Confucian classic after the Analects. It records the main words and deeds of Mencius, highlighting his political thoughts of advocating benevolence and righteousness, opposing tyranny and armed annexation, and promoting the people-oriented idea that "people are the most important, the country is second, and the monarch is the least important."
"The Analects": Mainly written by Confucius' disciples and their disciples, this classic records the words, deeds, quotations, and thoughts of Confucius and his followers. Confucius, with the surname Zi and the clan name Kong, was named Qiu and had the courtesy name Zhongni. He was a native of Zouyi (now Qufu, Shandong) in the State of Lu during the Spring and Autumn Period. He dedicated his life to preaching, teaching, and solving doubts, and is honored by the Chinese as "the holiest teacher, the model for all ages." His disciples compiled his teachings into the famous Confucian classic, "The Analects," which has had a profound impact on later generations.

Every semester we offer different classes, including traditional Chinese brush writing, arts and other interesting extra-curriculum topics that allows the students to experience the Chinese cultures.
