Student Government And Council
New York Putnam County Chinese school student government and council consists of members that are elected by students in High school. The overall goal of the student council is to represent students as a whole and provide leadership for the student council.
Serve as a positive behalves
One of the most important duties of a student council member is to serve as a positive Model for students . Members are usually required to be in outstanding academic achievement and they must strive to avoid behavioral issues during school hours.
Organize events
The student council is often responsible for organizing events that promote school spirit and leadership, such as mother day, memory Day, or school carnivals. They must choose a date, find a location, and secure funding from the school's accounts. For the event, they must recruit volunteers, set up the area, and run the event, ensuring that everything goes as planned and dealing with problems .
Service To provide
leadership for other students, members of a student council often participate in service projects. They might volunteer at monastery and a local community clean-up, sponsor school beautification efforts, or organize a food drive at school to benefit a local homeless shelter. Visit senior center and join local festive. It is up to council members to identify the area where they can be of the most help and to form a plan to serve other members of the community.

Many student councils have the responsibility of raising funds for school activities. During meetings, council members will brainstorm ideas for different fundraisers.

- To act as official spokesperson for the council in its relations with the students and the school administration.
- To call meetings of the council and to prepare the agendas.
- To chair the meetings of the council.
- To supervise the tasks of the council members.
- To take part in all special committees formed by the council or send a representative to such committees.
- To represent the students on official occasions.
Vice President of the Council- Zoey Zheng
- To advise and assist the President.
- To coordinate the work of non-elected students involved in the organization of school activities: newspaper, environment, school dances, etc.
- To replace the president when he or she cannot be present.
Treasurer- Matthias Tjin
- To keep accounts up to date.
- To make purchases.
- To provide full information about the council’s finances whenever the council wishes to see it.
Secretary-Oliver Amaza
- To advertise upcoming events and activities to the student body.
- To work along side the VP Administration to facilitate communication between the student council, school staff and the parent council.
- To bring information collected from students, parents and teaching staff to the attention of the student council.
